World Hand Hygiene Day is celebrated on May 5, the main message of this day is: 

"Save a Life: Clean Your Hands."  

 The World Health Organization urges that healthcare professionals make efforts to improve hand hygiene, as hand hygiene is a solid foundation for infection prevention and control in healthcare facilities and can reduce healthcare-associated infections by 50%.
